Elbow to the eye

So this morning C elbowed me in the eyebrow bone. Hard. REALLY hard. I screamed in pain and he didn't even wake up. I told him about it when we were getting ready for work and he had no idea that he had even done it. He is a very heavy sleeper, especially when it comes time to wake up for work.

So now my head is still aching. I am thinking he might want to look into elbow boxing, if that exists, because he would most likely win....

Big question here....

Busy weekend. Very unusual. Two parties tomorrow night and Sunday is girls night at my place. The big question of the week? Am I too old or too cool to go to a Twilight DVD release party?

What I am listening to right now...

I just finished watching "Diverted" on CBC. This is a movie based on the story of Gander, Newfoundland on September 11th, 2001. As most people know, I have a very, very special place in my heart for Newfoundland (I miss you Nicole!!!) so the fact that this movie was mostly filmed there made me like it already.

So, the story goes that when the airspace over the US was closed after the terrorist attacks on September 11th, the planes that were already in the air were diverted to other airports. Of those planes, 39 arrived in Gander, Newfoundland. Over 6,000 people were on those planes. For 4 days the populations of Gander nearly doubled. It is a touching story and a wonderful movie. I was shocked. No offense to Canadian CBC movies, but even I hated the newest "Booky" movie, but no need to stray off topic....

In this wonderful movie there was a band featured called "Hey Rosetta" and I now love them!!! I am now listening to "A thousand suns" and I think you all should be too!!!

What I am thinking about today...

1. Beer. I am thinking about eating dinner, watching TV and drinking beer.
2. Jamaica. For obvious reasons if you read my post from yesterday.
3. The weekend. Is it too soon to think about the weekend?
4. Twilight. No explanation needed.
5. Dinner. I am making my delicious chickpea, potato and leek soup.

Ugh. Ugh indeed.

I was at a lovely party this weekend. The hosts even had a decorate your own cupcake bar and there was no child in sight.

We were discussing Watchmen and one of the party-goers commented:

"You really should read the comic before seeing it. I loved it and I don't EVER read. The last book I read was in 1998!"

My reaction was "huh?!?" I was completely confused about a few things. The first was why someone was bragging that they hadn't read a book in 12 years. Why would you brag about never furthering your brain away from a computer screen? Am I that old and out of touch that people are only learning things online these days?

The second thing that was confusing to me is that he is younger than me. I was still in highschool in 1998. That would mean that he stopped reading books before he finished highschool...Does that mean that he didn't open a book in his final years of highschool?

Ugh.

JAMAICA!!!

Guess who is going to Jamaica?!?! ME!!! Today at work we won a 4 night trip to Runaway Bay to an all-inclusive resort. Not only do I get to drink and eat as much as I please BUT I am going with 2 very cool people AND I will also be getting CE hours which I need in order to stay accredited for my position!!! score, huh?

I'm back!

So it has been a year. Life kinda gets away from you when you're not paying attention, huh?
So what's new? so much! more later...and I sweat it won't be 2010 when I post again.
